To celebrate Suraasa’s ever-growing team’s achievements and bring the entire global team together in a single zoom call , Suraasa hosted its very first Virtual Town Hall, on Friday, the 25th of January 2022.

Opening Address: Journey So Far

The opening address was led by Rishabh Khanna, Co-Founder & CEO. He outlined the agenda and kicked off the town hall. Being in the same room virtually with the entire team across India and the UAE, he made everyone feel connected to the Suraasa vision and mission once again. It was a great moment of pride to see how far we have come in the last 1 year and how we have tripled our team size to almost 90 people in just 1 year. Rishabh congratulated and thanked all the team members for their outstanding contribution.

Accomplishments: Applauding the Teams

Leading the way, Ankit Khanna, Co-Founder & CTO, congratulated the tech, design and data science team for their contribution to the growth of the organisation. He shared some behind the scene details of the outstanding work that the technology team is doing and how they make everything possible in a self- sustained framework. He further shared about the design and data science teams contribution to the ecosystem and what lies in the future for technology, design as well as data science. He shared the plan of action to help align the team for the month and quarter ahead, informing about major tech upgrades that will support the company’s strategy and actions in the coming months.

Announcements: Industry Recognition and Partnerships

Adding to team congratulations, Sahil Makker, Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer chimed in commending the Sales, Marketing & Partnerships teams on achieving unbelievable milestones. Following which, he made some major announcements, including industry recognition and partnerships (we will make the news public soon)—eliciting a sense of pride in every team member present at the townhall.

Rishabh pitched in further by highlighting the work of Academic, Learning Operations, Online & Offline Content and Evaluations teams. He spotlighted founding members of these verticals and congratulated them to have built entire teams from one person each in these teams.

Post the team & company updates, Rishabh connected the entire team to Suraasa core values of “Ethics, Integrity & Unconditional Support’. He shared the background & key objective of having these values at the core of all actions we take as a team and the culture that we wish to build for internal as well as external Suraasa communities.

Celebrations: Work Anniversaries, Birthdays and More

To further build on the great energy in the meeting, we celebrated the invaluable contribution of Sudhin Biswas, Divya Zutshi & Loulou Hsaiky, three strong pillars of the Suraasa team. They were awarded for their achievements and continuous hustle for making the impossible possible. All three of them shared their experiences while  reflecting on their journey so far. The entire team congratulated them for completing three years with Suraasa and for always being there for everyone.

We also celebrated the efforts of Manyata Makkar, Bhavishya Sahdev, Manjot singh Gulati, Natasha Singh Khan, & Umer Farooq  who have been contributing to the Suraasa’s impeccable journey for more than a year now!

Post recognizing all the hard work and dedication, it was time to celebrate birthdays and welcome new hires. The session kept members’ emotions engaged throughout.

Q&A: Shifting from Work to Connect

After the celebrations ended, the stage was open for a Q&A. With fun queries about the Suraasa Retreat and Suraasa Merchandise, it changed the entire  team's mindset from "work" to "connect" & gave the team renewed positive vibes for the weekend.

“The Town hall led to a clearer understanding of all the work our team members are doing in the organisation in different parts of the world. This event further bolstered everyone’s sense of belonging to the family-like atmosphere, our trust in each other, and our commitment to our mission to make teaching one of the most attractive professions”, quoted one of Suraasa’s team members.
