Dear Teacher,
You pour your heart into teachingâday after day, lesson after lesson. But lately, have you felt more tired than usual? A little less excited to step into the classroom?
If you're feeling emotionally worn out, overwhelmed, or questioning your impact, it doesnât mean youâre failing. It means youâve been carrying a heavy load for a long time.
Burnout is real. And youâre not alone.
Letâs talk about how to recognise it earlyâand gently guide yourself back to balance, energy, and joy.
â
Give yourself permission to switch off. Set a clear end time to your workdayâand stick to it. Your well-being matters too.
â
Not every lesson has to be perfect. Focus on connection, not perfection. Some days, âgood enoughâ is more than enough.
â
Talk to someone who understands. A friend, a fellow teacher, or a coach. Sharing your feelings lightens the load.
â
Take 5-10 minutes between tasks to breathe, stretch, or step outside. Micro-breaks are small acts of self-care that add up.
â
Bring something new into your classroomâjust for you. A fun activity, a new tech tool, or a creative twist to a lesson. Reignite your curiosity, too.
Burnout is not a failure. Itâs a signal. A whisper from your mind and body saying, âI need care too.â
You deserve support, rest, and a teaching life that feels good again. Letâs take that first step together. đ
