Nazibul Rahman
A teacher by choice. Then head of department.
A teacher by choice, now ready to lead.

- School teacher, head of department for a time
- Programme
- PgCTL
Nazibul Rahman meant to stay in the classroom and turned down the administrative roles the school offered. PgCTL brought the confidence to design curriculum, set assessments and serve for a time as head of department. A studio demo lesson in front of veteran faculty then opened a move into NEET education.
Plan B was teaching.
Nazibul Rahman had two plans: army officer or teacher. Teaching was plan B, and Nazibul tells students and colleagues the same thing about it: “I am a teacher by choice.”
At the school, the senior class began with six students, then 14. Nazibul had been motivating the students of 9th and 10th standard and told the director to expect far more in 11th and 12th, perhaps 30, perhaps more than 50. “It turned out that we had 45 students in that class,” Nazibul says. “And he was very much impressed with me.”
No administrative job.
Before the PgCTL course, Nazibul turned down the roles the school offered. “I’ll remain a teacher throughout. I don’t want any administrative job,” Nazibul says of that time. That changed. “I can design the curriculum, I can do the assessment, I can be the HOD. I was the HOD for some time.” Nazibul’s verdict is short: “For me, it worked.”
That gave me the confidence to excel and to come out of my comfort zone… I was always motivated by the course.
A demo lesson in a studio.
The switch from school to NEET education meant a demo lesson inside a studio. The teachers and faculty there “had as many years of experience as my age. They were pros.” Nazibul settled the nerves with one question. “What’s the worst that could happen? Okay, I’ll mess up.” The session went amazingly well, and Nazibul was hired.
Raises followed as the work was seen, and another after PgCTL, based on performance. “If I hadn’t made that choice, or hadn’t put myself in that uncomfortable spot, this would have never happened,” Nazibul says.
